Township Code Chapter 53, Numbering of Buildings, was enacted by the Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors with the purpose of establishing a uniform system of posting and displaying address identification numbers in order that all properties –residential or not – within the Township may be easily located during an emergency situation.

Establishing a uniform system offers emergency responders that service Middlesex Township – Middlesex Township Police, Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company and Quality EMS Ambulance Service, among others, – improved response times to properties in the Township in the event an emergency arises.

Cooperatively, the Township, the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company, and IbisSigns, a subsidiary of Ibis Tek, LLC, have developed a reflective street address sign available for purchase.  The $10.00 purchase price, will give you a dual-sided reflective street address sign that can be installed vertically or horizontally on any mailbox, as shown below, or on its own support.  If you are interested, a form to order a street address sign is available on the Township’s website, www.middlesextownship.org or can be provided at the Municipal Building located at 133 Browns Hill Road.

Today, as a township or borough resident, you can go to a municipal meeting, speak out about what’s right and wrong, and have a real and lasting impact on what happens in your community.

Tomorrow, however, that might not be the case.  And the sad thing is, many Pennsylvanians aren’t aware that something they value, and possibly take for granted, could be snatched away.  And that’s their right to be heard, loud and clear, by their local elected leaders.

Right now, State lawmakers are preparing to hold hearings on two serious threats to our democratic way of life, House Bill 2431 and Senate Bill 1357, which would radically reshape our commonwealth by snuffing out townships and boroughs [click here to read entire press release]
